The ShelterBox Trust is a registered UK charity that provides emergency aid for victims of natural and other disasters anywhere in the world.

Since operations began in January 2001, we have helped an estimated 500,000 people and worked in more than 40 countries – responding to earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, wars, volcanoes etc. See where we've worked.

ShelterBox was set up by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard and all aid is distributed from our base in Cornwall. The charity is supported by international affiliates set up by Rotary clubs in various other countries, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, New Zealand and the USA.

The charity's President is HRH The Duchess of Cornwall. For details of recent deployments and other events, please visit our latest news pages.

KidsOut June 12th

This is the largest single day out for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

Over 28,000 children from all over the country take part – thanks to over 750 Rotary Clubs throughout Great Britain and Ireland who work with local schools and special groups to make this happen!

The day, traditionally the middle Wednesday in June, involves over 100 venues and more than 1,700 volunteers who ensure the day is as special as it is memorable.

"Days out give our children the opportunity to experience and discover. They talk about their special day for months afterwards."
Special Needs Teacher

The first Rotary KidsOut National day out was in 1991. Since then, more than 350,000 children have benefited from a KidsOut fun day out!
